I have an easy recipe to make crispy caramel corn. It’s sooo addicting and it doesn’t stick to your teeth like the jello recipes!
Ingredients for “crispy” caramel popcorn.
- 4 bags microwave popcorn
- 2 cubes butter
- 3/4 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup Karo syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
It’s important to have the popcorn popped before cooking the caramel mixture. Smear some butter Crisco on a wooden spoon, this will prevent the caramel corn from sticking to the spoon when you mix it. Cook on med-high heat and use a candy thermometer to gauge the temperature. The mixture needs to be a soft crack stage (265 degrees) before adding the final ingredient. Be ready to pour the mix when you add the baking soda because it will rise fast!
