With spring here and Mothers Day around the corner I wanted to make some paper flowers for my mom. The cool thing about paper flowers is they wont wilt and die so I can make a colorful bouquet anytime of the year to give as a gift or just decorate the table.
Supplies for this project
- tissue paper
- scissors
- pipe cleaners
There’s a zillion ways to make these but my favorite way for tissue paper, is folding multiple sheets accordion style and wrapping it with wire.
Take 6-8 sheets of tissue paper (mine is about 5×6 inch rectangles). Fold the sheets of paper back and forth like an accordion. Take a pipe cleaner or wire and wrap it loosely around the folded paper. I cut the ends of my fold so it looks more like pedals.
Once the wire is secure, open up the fold and separate each individual sheet from the fold. It will look sloppy at first but just alternate sides as your separating the sheets. Now the flower will start to take shape.
Experiment with different colors to make your own unique flowers and bouquets.

nice one
I like to spray tissue flowers with perfume – the smell great! And when the smell goes away after a few days, simply spray again. These also make great teacher gifts.
